Oil on canvas tropical river landscape, manner of Norton Bush, depicting a boat with two figures and a grove of palm trees in the foreground, with a cabin and wooded area in the background, the sky tinged with pink to suggest a sunrise or sunset. Later giltwood cove molded frame with acanthus corner decorations and nameplate. Unsigned, nameplate attributes to Norton Bush (American, 1834-1894). 22" x 29" sight, 29 1/2" x 36 1/2" framed. Condition: Old canvas with patch and inpainting to a 2" section of upper left edge sky area, overall craquelure, small area of tenting to water area at lower left corner and a 1/2" repair near same area; 2" repaired tear lower right edge in foliage.
