Frank Eastman Jones (New York, 19th Century) oil on canvas landscape painting depicting cows grazing near a home surrounded by verdant trees and foliage under a cloudy blue sky. Signed "F. Eastman Jones" lower right and printed on plaque, lower-center. Housed in an ornately carved giltwood frame with c-scroll and acanthus leaf decoration. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 19 5/8" W. Framed: 25 1/4" H x 33" W.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Harvey and Leslie Ann Phillips, Vonore, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall craquelure and significant area of damage in upper left corner, with restoration and overpainting extending from left middle to upper quadrant to right side of sky. Light scattered inpainting to tree and sky.
