French ormolu mounted marquetry cabinet, after the workshops of Paul Sormani. The demilune form cabinet features a thick rouge marble top over a single hidden frieze drawer; the entire frieze is decorated with openwork bronze garland mounts interspersed with Neoclassical style bronze brackets. The case is divided into three sections with a single door flanked by two cabinet doors, all with contrasting bands of inlay and a diaper parquetry design with repeating floral sprigs. The interior is fitted with shelves. Supported on short legs with bronze acanthus sabots. 45.5" H x 50" W x 22" D. Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with light general wear.
