Continental Baroque or Louis XIV style carved giltwood console table. Serpentine variegated rouge marble top above a conforming diaper-patterned gilt frieze centered by a grinning satyr mask, surrounded by shells and foliate C scrolls, the whole supported on C-scroll legs in the form of turban-adorned carytids joined by four stretchers and a foliate shell center piece, and ending in gadrooned squared feet. 36" H x 45" W x 21" D. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Some flaking to finish, legs have scattered minor previous repairs. Restoration to gilding.
