Very large and heavily carved Italian giltwood Rococo style mirror, consisting of a rectangular shaped mirror with serpentine top edge. Framed by a rococo style frame with carved and scrolling openwork elements, including an anthemion crest, fruit clusters, swans, volutes, leaves, and an acanthus finial to the lower edge. Mirror plate: 34 5/8" H x 20 1/2" W. Overall: 68" H x 45 1/4" W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Repaired breaks to crest and scattered other repaired breaks to sides with some gilt touchup. Mirror with silvering.
