Russian Orthodox oil on board panel depicting Saints of Moscow and Saint Nicholas, watched over by a depiction of Christ surrounded by a gilt metal representation of heaven, integrated with the foliate oklad border. The Saints represented in the scene are Sergius of Radonezh (b. 1314), Alexei of Moscow (b. 1292), Nikon-Abbot of Radonezh (b. 1355), and Saint Nicholas (b. 270). 12 in. H x 10 in. W. 19th century.

CONDITION:
Overall excellent condition with small separations on the border and wear on the back of the panel. UV light reveals inpainting from more than one occasion located around the haloes of each saint, along the border, and in scattered sections of the saints’ clothing.
