Charles Keiger (NC/Georgia, b. 1957), "Rest Stop," oil on panel surrealist / fantasy painting depicting a red haired man in clown face makeup, sitting in a tree and holding a hot dog, with various objects on the ground below, including a Jeff Koontz style balloon dog; an Indian temple sits across a lake in the background and an elephant sails by in a boat. Painted and incised signatures lower right, one dated 4-19-05, the other 4-15-05. Mounted in a painted wood frame with additional incised decorative motifs at each side. Titled and additionally signed en verso, with original sales tags from the Arts Company, Nashville. Panel – 12" x 10"W. Frame – 18"H x 16"W.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Ronnie Steine, Nashville.
CONDITION: Some minor wear spots to upper edge of frame, otherwise excellent condition.
