Lot 468: Pair 18th C or earlier Life Size Carved Leg Sculpture Fragments

Two carved wooden life sized leg fragments, likely from a large Continental crucifix sculpture, 18th century or earlier, each mounted for display to a linen lined board in a protective plexiglass case with hanging apparatus en verso. Each fragment approximately 45 in. H. Case sizes: 57 in. H x 17 1/2 in. W x 9 1/2 in. D. 

PROVENANCE:

Private Middle Tennessee collection. 

CONDITION:

Legs with remnants of old paint and shrinkage cracks. Pest damage and losses to upper areas.
