Grouping of two miniatures. 1st item: Portrait miniature, possibly on ivory, depicting a young girl attired in a blue dress with lace collar, white ribbon belt and gold jewelry. Mounted on black background and housed in a black and gilt painted frame. Portrait – 2 1/2" H x 2" W. Overall – 5 1/2" H x 4 1/2" W. 19th century. 2nd item: Circular miniature on ivory depicting a landscape scene with figures engaged in a picnic with lake, hills and buildings in the background. Signed "C. or G. Remy" lower right. Housed in an ebonized wooden frame with brass liner. Sight – 3" dia. Framed – 5" dia. Late 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Bill Selden, Athens, TN. Condition: 1st item: Not examined out of frame. Overall very good condition. 2nd item: Crack to wooden frame with some abrasions. Overall very good condition.
