Krystii Melaine (Australian/American, b. 1963), “A Distant Challenge – Elk,” oil on canvas board wildlife landscape painting depicting three female elk crossing a river while a bull elk strikes an alert stance in the foreground at the river’s edge. Signed lower right, additionally signed en verso. Painted wood frame with applied distressed burl veneer to front. Note: Label en verso states the work was painted Oct.-Nov. 2003, painting number 466. Sight: 24 in. H x 36 in. W. Frame: 30 in. H x 42 in. W. Note: Krystii Melaine is an award winning contemporary Australian-American painter specializing in Western and wildlife scenes.
