Signed and dated "A. Bredsdorff. 38." lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame. Sight: 23 1/4" H x 30" W. Framed: 28" H x 34 3/4" W. 2nd item: Oil on board painting depicting a small village in a pastoral landscape setting beneath a cloudy blue sky, rendered in pastel colors. Signed "A. Bredsdorff" lower left. Housed in a wooden frame with gilt trim. Sight: 14 3/4" H x 17 3/4" W. Framed: 20" H x 23" W.

PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, TN.

CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with thinning to canvas. 1 x 1/4" areas of paint loss, lower left. 3 1/2" vertical distortion to the top left of painting appears to be part of the original canvas. Frame with areas of loss, largest 8", to gilt. 2nd item: Overall good condition with light craquelure. Frame with minor abrasions.
