Two (2) M. Donat (French, fl. 1840-1880) oil on panel landscape paintings including one (1) winter forest scene depicting two paths with four figures and one (1) summer scene depicting a path with three figures with trees in the background. Both signed lower right corner, "M. Donat." Both housed in giltwood frames with lamb's tongue decorated sight edge. Both with printed copy of written label, "Je soussige declare que le tableau ci-contre est peintre par moi, Mt. (illegible) Liege," en verso. Sights: 6 3/8" H x 9 3/8" W. Frames: 10" H x 12 7/8" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Raymond White, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both items in overall good condition with minute abrasion to paint in the sky of winter scene, largest measuring 1/8" L. Frames having scattered wear to gilt and wood; some splitting to the wood of sight edge.
