Lot 457: Large Sevres Style Lidded Porcelain Urn

Large Sevres style porcelain urn and cover in the Neoclassical taste. White porcelain ground with polychrome floral decoration throughout and gilt swag decoration to the globular body, gilt highlights throughout. Raised on an octagonal and circular base and topped with a gilt bronze cover and acanthus leaf finial. Base with cobalt imitation Sevres mark. 23" H x 12" W. Early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection.

CONDITION: Some scattered firing flaws noted, primarily at seams, and light scattered wear to gilt, otherwise overall in good condition. The lid had been glued to the base. Previous owner's name to the underside.
