Southern walnut pie safe, poplar and yellow pine secondary. Low sideboard form consisting of a rectangular plain slightly overhanging top above two doors, each having two seamed punched tins with elaborate flowering urn decoration and fan corners flanked by vines, the side with two joined punched tins with repeating elaborate flowering urn decoration, resting on turnip feet. 36 3/8" H x 56" W x 18 3/4" D. Possibly Southwest Virginia or East Tennessee, 3rd Quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Hawkins County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Old dry surface with general expected wear, abrasions and minor losses. Interior has been painted, one door pull missing. Possible old loss of height to feet.
