East Tennessee, Blount County, walnut blind door built-in corner cupboard, poplar and yellow pine secondary, one-piece construction. Consisting of a swan's neck pediment centering a shell-carved plinth above ogee molding that continues along the canted sides and the base. The top with paneled doors, waist with one full drawer flanked by two half drawers, all molded with brass bail pulls, above two paneled lower doors. Upper and lower doors with wood pulls, upper section fitted with four shelves and lower section fitted with two shelves. 93" H x 48" W x approx. 31" D. Circa 1820.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Susan and David Eagleton, Maryville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Older refinish with expected wear, abrasions and minor losses throughtout. Examination of pediment from the top indicates smaller carved elements once existed on each side of the center pediment. Drawer pulls are replacements.
