Three (3) Christian religious items. 1st-2nd items: Two (2) polychrome carved wooden Santos figures including one of Saint Anthony of Padua holding an open book and the Christ child, and one unknown figure attired in a green garment with long dark hair standing atop a mound. Sizes range from 18 1/2" H x 6 1/2" W x 5 1/2" D to 20" H x 7" W x 5" D. 19th century. 3rd item: French medieval iron double-barred Lorraine style reliquary crucifix with the Virgin Mother flanked by two putti in the lower margin above a skull and crossbones. Housed in a wood frame under glass and mounted to a blue velvet backing. Sight: 2 1/4 " W x 4 1/2" H. Framed: 8 1/4" W x 10 3/4" H. 8th century or earlier.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: 1st-2nd items with overall wear and losses to paint decoration and chips/abrasions to wood. Unknown figure with insect damage and with one hand absent. St. Anthony figure with hand, book, and Christ-child not secure. 3rd items: Pitting and patination expected with age.
