Large East Tennessee sideboard form pie safe, walnut primary and poplar secondary. Consisting of a plain overhanging top above three dovetailed drawers with turned pulls, above three doors, each have four punched tins with urn and star decoration in a vertical orientation. The sides with two punched identical tins above base molding, the whole resting on turned feet. 49 1/2" H x 77 5/8" W x 17 1/4" D. 3rd Quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Hawkins County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Older refinish. Patch to left drawer upper corner and above rail supporting top, center drawer with patch to right of escutcheon, horizontal patch on base rail where doors close. Backboards on lower right side with tin "make do" covering rodent chew. Rear right foot with repair near intersection with the case.
