Three (3) 19th century English Agricultural Premium Silver Cups, all with presentation inscriptions to Mr. William Ward. Includes inscriptions for "Best Three Year Old Colt – Premium 5 Class 6", 1840; "Best Cultivated Farm – Premium 4th Class 1st," 1841; and "Best Cultivated Farm Henmoss in Gt. Harwood," 1842. Various London makers with Victorian hallmarks, 2 corresponding directly to inscriptions; mug engraved for 1842 is dated for 1837. Smaller cups marked for Edward Edward Jr. (sic) and John and William Barnard; the larger cup marked IW (rubbed), possibly for John Welby or James Whitehouse. Tallest – 3 1/2"H. Combined weight: 14.54 oz troy.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Hunter Kay, Franklin, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Maker's mark rubbed on largest cup. Handle likely repaired to the 1840 cup. Otherwise all items very good condition with minimal wear.
