1st item: Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) aquatint etching depicting a nude model in a studio with a painter at right, entitled Peintre et modele aux cheveux longs. Unsigned. From the set of ten aquatints produced for the Sable mouvant portfolio,1966, to accompany text by poet and friend of the artist Pierre Reverdy. With BFK watermark. Housed under glass in an ebonized and gilt wood frame with cream mat and black reveal. Ref.: Bloch 1184; Baer 1153; Cramer Books 136. Plate: 15" H x 10 3/4" W. Sheet: 18 13/16" H x 14 13/16" W. 2nd item: Screen print after Marino Marini (Italy, 1901-1980) depicting in black and gray the body of a nude woman with raised arms. With printed signature, date, and plate number along lower sight edge. Editioned in pencil "163/500," lower left. Housed under plexiglass in a gilt and wood frame with ivory mat and dark gray reveal. Sheet: 17" H x 12 3/4" W. Frame: 24 1/2" H x 19 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Very good condition. 1st item is hinge-mounted to backing with archival tape and missing tip of sheet's upper left corner, 3/16" L.
