Pair of calling cards for "Wu Ting Fang" and his wife "Wu Ho Shi" (Late Chinese Minister to the United States of America, Spain, Peru, Mexico and Cuba.) Cards used during visit to Washington in March 1900. Overall very good condition. 1-3/16"H x 3-1/2" W. Fang later authored the book: "AMERICA Through the Spectacles of an Oriental Diplomat by Wu Tingfang, LL.D. (1914) which gives unique insights of a foreigner's understanding of American society from a pre Chinese Revolutionperspective.
