Seventeen (17) assorted boxes, vanity, and other items, including sterling silver. 1st-3rd items: Oak box with brass details and escutcheon and hinged lid containing two felt-lined compartments with two (2) cut glass bottles having metal screw lids monogrammed F; key included. Bottles: 3 1/2" H x 1 5/8" W x 1 1/4" D. Box: 5 1/4" H x 4 3/8" W x 2 3/4" D. 4th-6th items: Chinoiserie lacquered box with foliate and bird designs and brass handle, hinges, and latch escutcheon, fitted with two felt-lined compartments containing two (2) glass bottles with stopper lids. Sticker label "Vantine's" on inside of lid. Bottles: 2" H x 7/8" W x 7/8" D. Box: 2 5/8" H x 2 3/4" W x 1 7/8" D. 7th item: Cut glass perfume vial with hinged R. Blackington & Co. sterling silver topper having turquoise enamel inserts. Maker's mark to rim. 4 5/8" H x 1 1/4" dia. All items American, early 20th century. 8th-9th items: Two (2) Heisey cut glass jars with silverplate lids having blue faceted jewel inserts and repousse foliate decoration, including one (1) jar with foliate finial having a blue jewel to the lid and one (1) hair receiver. Maker's mark to inside of base. Ranging in size from 2 5/8" H x 4 1/4" dia. to 3 3/8" H x 4 1/4" dia. American, early 20th century. 10th-12th items: Three (3) Gorham sterling silver items with repousse foliate designs, monogrammed MJB, including one (1) small tray and two (2) miniature cut glass jars with sterling lids. Ranging in size from 1 3/4" H x 1 1/2" dia. to 2 3/4" H x 6 3/8" W. American, early 20th century. 13th item: Bailey, Biddle, & Banks sterling silver repousse lidded jar with foliate decorations and monogrammed CBR. Maker's mark and Sterling stamped to underside. 2 3/8" H x 2 1/2" dia. American, late 19th century. 14th item: Square, beveled glass jar with square-cut base and hinged sterling lid with repousse floral and scroll designs, a purple faceted jewel, and inscribed "Louise to Daisy". Marked Sterling to rim. 2 7/8" H x 2" W x 2" D. American, early 20th century. 15th-17th items: Three (3) English sterling silver repousse lidded containers, including one (1) German Export round lidded box with foliate scrolling to rim, rosette to underside, and a figural landscape scene bordered by foliate scrolls to lid, hallmarked for Thomas Gibbard, sterling, London, and 1894, with additional Hanau, Germany export marks to rim of lid; one (1) jar with hinged lid, glass-lined interior, and foliate, scroll, and crosshatch decorations, hallmarks for sterling and "m" date mark to underside; and one (1) jar with hinged lid, glass lining to lid and interior, and foliate scroll decorations, hallmarked for sterling, Birmingham, and 1890, with illegible maker's mark to underside. Ranging in size from 2 1/2" H x 1 5/8" dia. to 4" H x 4 3/8" dia. English, late 19th/early 20th century. Combined sterling weight: 12.375 total weighable troy ounces.
CONDITION: 1st-3rd items: Overall good condition with minor surface scratches to box and bottles; locking mechanism in lid detached but included. 4th-6th items: Overall good condition with minor surface scratches to box and bottles, residue in bottles; loss of latch mechanism on lid. 7th item: Overall good condition with surface oxidation to lid and residue in bottle. 8th-17th items: Scattered surface scratches to silver with minor tears to two lidded jars, largest measuring 3/8" L. Minor surface scratches and light chipping to glass, largest measuring 1/4" H x 1/8" W. Thomas Gibbard box with dents, largest 3/4".
