Painted blanket chest, poplar throughout, with paneled top, front and sides; post and paneled construction and straight feet. Old painted surface with alligatoring throughout. Interior with till having pencil inscriptions reading "LA. Layette. Taylor April 8, 1865" and "June Murphy April 24th, 1942". 24 1/4" H x 38 1/2" W x 20" D. Third quarter of the 19th century.

CONDITION: Overall good condition with wear and losses to painted surface and general use wear.
