Michael Hamby (American, 20th-21st Century) large cold painted bronze bear sculpture titled "Fat & Happy" depciting a large bear standing in a river stream with multiple fish at his feet. Signed, dated and numbered on the base "Hamby, @1998, and 7/35. Sculpture – 16" H x 18 1/2" W x 15" dia. Overall – 17 1/2" H x 18 1/2" W x 17 1/4" dia. Provenance: Private La Follette, TN collection. Biography (courtesy of AskArt: The Artists' Bluebook): "Michael Hamby is an accomplished sculptor, musician, illustrator and retired pro football player (Buffalo Bills). He began a career in fine art after retiring from the Buffalo Bills in 1989 due to an injury. Hamby has received many commissions including two 24 foot grizzly bears which stand at the entrance to Cabella's headquarters in Dundee, Michigan". CONDITION: Overall very good condition.
