Three (3) American Primitive wooden items, including two (2) cupboards and one (1) kraut or cabbage cutter. 1st item: Mid-Atlantic primitive red painted one-piece wall cupboard, poplar throughout. Comprised of a case with two doors and four interior shelves on a flat base. 47 3/4" H x 42 1/4" W x 16 5/8" D. 19th century. 2nd item: Primitive brown painted pine wall cupboard, rectangular top over plain case with pegged construction and single hinged door opening to three interior shelves. Plain bracket feet formed from curved skirt. Metal latch and glass knob. Mid-Atlantic or Midwestern, mid to late 19th century. 50 1/2" H x 39" W x 19" D. 3rd item: Kraut or cabbage cutter, comprised of wood and having three steel blades to center, with two steel panels above and below blades. Old sales tag tied to center and clear retail sticker, en verso. 25" L x 8 7/8" W x 2" D. 19th century.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall general use wear with scattered losses, bottom board with an older replaced strip. 2nd item: Alligatoring to brown paint, deep 2" scratch to door, 3" blemish near door, other scattered abrasions and scratches. 3rd item: General surface wear, natural age shrinkage to be expected from age. Oxidation to steel, one panel is loose. Does not retain box.
