Pair of Staffordshire three-dimensional figural earthenware groups titled Departure and Return, depicting a sailor leaving and returning to his beloved. Decorated in overglaze enamels on rectangular cut corner bases. Each 9-1/2" H. English, early 19th century. Provenance: a Mississippi estate. Condition: Some wear and assorted small chips, Return has hairline at bonnet and on base.
