Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) color lithograph on Arches paper, “Nu a la Chaise” (Nude with Chair). A standing, nude woman shown in profile and rendered in green and blue rests her right hand on the back of a black chair. Pencil signed to lower right and numbered 16/50, lower left. From the edition of 50 plus five proof impressions. Ref.: Bloch 763, Mourlot 261. Unframed. Sheet: 19 3/4 in. H x 25 1/2 in. W. 1954.
PROVENANCE: Private Baltimore, MD collection
CONDITION: With even toning to sheet within sight area plus areas of toning around image. Mat burn to extreme upper, lower, and left edges of sheet and to right edge approximately 2 inches into sheet. Minor, pinpoint indentations without loss to sheet to left of figure’s head and to lower center, below image. Verso with old adhesive stains to upper edge plus archival tape to upper corners.
