Lowell Ellsworth Smith (American, b. 1924) watercolor on paper painting of a rural street on a snowy day. Figures are seen walking along the sidewalks between the buildings, and a 1940s or 1950s truck is in the background. Signed "Lowell Ellsworth Smith A.W.S./N.A.W.A." lower right. Giltwood frame wtih linen liner and silvered rabbet edge. 9" x 13" sight, 18" x 22" framed. Accompanied by a letter from the artist, on his letterhead and dated 1983, to the previous owner. In it, the artist writes that he was just awarded both the gold medal for watercolor and the Prix de West at the National Academy of Western Art Show in Oklahoma.
