Gerald Farm (American, b. 1935) oil on board painting, half length portrait of a rugged, aging cowboy with cigarette in his mouth, hands on belt. Signed lower right G. Farm. Labels verso for Trailside Galleries, Scottsdale Arizona and Jackson Wyoming. Housed in a weathered wood frame. 15-1/2" x 13-1/2" sight, 25" x 23" framed. Biography (courtesy Askart: The Artists' Bluebook): Dubbed "the Norman Rockwell of the West," Nebraska-born Gerald Farm paints Western nostalgia in oils, specializing in figures and faces. He has a background in industrial and illustration art and teaching, and began painting full time around 1970. He is listed in Who's Who in American Art.
