Attributed to Erik Raadal (Denmark, 1905-1941) oil on canvas landscape painting title "Limfjorden" depicting two figures conversing with a rural village landscape and large body of water in the background. The figures and homes are rendered in warm tones that contrast with the cool colored landscape. "Limfjorden" refers to a Danish strait, likely the body of water in this image, connecting the North Sea and the Kattegat. Titled lower right and signed "THX". Housed in a contemporary painted frame. Sight: 25 1/8" H x 36" W. Framed: 30" H x 41" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall heavy grime and a few minor areas of paint loss.
