Collection of Civil War era photographs. Includes three (3) sixth-plate tintypes depicting a gentleman with a top hat and his wife, and a gentleman with a gun; one (1) sixth-plate size ghost image of a female; and two (2) ninth-plate tintypes depicting a husband and wife, housed in a gutta percha union case. Lot also includes a small gold-filled oval frame locket containing an oval daguerreotype portrait of a young gentleman with glasses, fitted in a red leather case. Locket measures 2 5/8" H x 2" W. 6 items total. Mid 19th century. Provenance: Private Mississippi Collection. Condition: 1st – 5th items: Wear, separation and losses to cases, some oxidation to metal frames and light spotting/fogging to images. 1/6 plate case separated with losses. 6th item: Oxidation to perimeter of portrait.
