Four (4) European Religious items. 1st item: Ecclesiastical metallic embroidered silk textile, likely for a liturgical vestment, comprised of a gold field with red stitched scrolling foliate decorations. Housed under glass in a giltwood frame. Sight: 16 1/4" H x 13 3/4" W. Framed: 20 1/2" H x 18" W. 2nd item: Paten cover comprised of an off-white silk square with an off white linen overlay embroidered "JSH" over the image of cross to the center, surrounded by an off white lace border. Float mounted against brown velvet and housed under glass in a silver metallic painted frame. Paten: 7 1/4" square. Framed: 11 1/2" square. Note: Oral history states that this was originally used in the Regensburg Cathedral, also known as St. Peter's Cathedral, within the German state of Bavaria. 3rd item: Kloppel comprised of off white and metallic silver and gold thread and rendered in the form of the Christ child wearing a miter or mitre. Float mounted against red velvet and housed under glass in a carved giltwood frame. Kloppel: 6 1/4" H x 5 1/8" W. Framed: 14 1/4" H x 12 1/2" W. Note: Purchased by the consignor in Prague, Czech Republic, ca. 1972. 4th item: Steel plate engraving titled "Interior of the Cathedral, Ratisbon," engraved by James Redaway (United Kingdom, 1797-1858) after a drawing by William Henry Bartlett (Ireland, 1858-1932). Artist information, lower left and right below the plate, title, lower center below the plate. Double matted and housed under glass in a gilt wood frame with black trim. Sight: 8 1/2" H x 5 1/2" W. Framed: 13" H x 9 1/2" W.
CONDITION: All items in overall good condition. Not examined outside of frames. 1st item: Areas of fraying, largest 2" x 1", to fabric. Frame with areas of loss, largest 1/2" x 2", to gilt. 3rd item: Frame with natural age shrinkage, largest 1". 4th item: Light toning to sheet.
