Two (2) oil on canvas landscape paintings with bridges. 1st item: European school landscape painting featuring a central bridge, with a woman holding a red umbrella, surrounded by grass, trees, and mountains in the background. Unsigned. Housed in a carved, giltwood Louis XIII style frame. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 12" W. Framed: 18 1/2" H x 19 1/4" W. Early 20th century. 2nd item: American school landscape with two trees in the foreground and a river that runs into the background spanned by a distant, concrete bridge. Unsigned. Pencil inscription "AUQUM" in verso. Housed in a giltwood frame with bead course decoration. Sight: 10 1/4" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 14 1/4" H x13 1/2" W. Mid-Late 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with light craquelure and some fleabite losses, largest 1mm. Some losses to gilt carving on frame, largest 2". 2nd item: Overall good condition. Some minor wear to frame.
