Tom Pfannerstill (Kentucky, b. 1951) and Mario Muller (New York/California, b. 1962) mixed media tromp l’oeil carved and painted wood with laminated, sandblasted glass sculpture, 1990. The sculpture depicts the facade of an urban building with plate glass windows and door with glass window and open transom window. A busy street scene that includes numerous figures before a limousine appears to be reflected in the windows. Lightly painted areas of the gray facade reveal glimpses of brightly colored underpaint throughout. With heavy, dark felt affixed to backs of windows. 56 in. H x 81 in. W x 5 in. D.
PROVENANCE: Southern corporate collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. With minor, scattered scratches to glass, possibly inherent.
