Charles Gordon Harris (Rhode Island, 1891-1963) oil on canvas maritime painting depicting a docked sailboat with two rowboats tied to the stern, a figure atop a platform conversing with another figure below in the foreground, and additional boats docked alongside boathouses in the background beneath a clouded, grey sky. Signed "C. Gordon Harris" lower right. Providence, Rhode Island Block Artists' Materials Co. stamp, en verso of stretcher. Housed in a giltwood frame with cream-painted fillet. Sight: 19 1/4" H x 22 1/2" W. Framed: 26 1/4" H x 30" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Painting has been lined. Two minute dots of errant paint or inclusions within paint to sky. Frame with some wear to gilt and cream paint.
