Two (2) American scene watercolor on paper landscape paintings. 1st item: Leon Moore (American, 20th Century) rural landscape depicting a house on a hill by a lake, powerlines along a road in the foreground, and a large body of water before distant land in the background, all under a hazy sky. Signed "Leon E Moore" lower right. Housed in a contemporary gilt-painted frame under glass with a linen mat and giltwood filet. Sight: 15" H x 21 1/2" W. Framed: 28 1/4" H x 34 1/2" W. Circa 1941. 2nd item: American school industrial landscape titled "Colorado Miners Town, Leadville," vertical alignment, with small buildings along a road, a seated figure next to manufacturing debris and supplies in the foreground, power lines strung overhead, and mountains in the background. Signed "Robert Baleh" and titled under mat. Housed and matted in a simple wood frame under glass. Sight: 15" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 22 1/4" H x 26 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of James Lewis, Carthage, Tennessee; Moore painting acquired Williams Galleries 2003; a copy of the original receipt is available to the winning bidder.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall excellent condition, not examined out of the frame. 2nd item: Light wear to frame.
