Original gilt and stained frame. Image – 20 1/8" H x 24 1/8" W. Framed – 22 1/2" H x 26 1/2" W. Biography (Courtesy of Askart: The Artist's Bluebook): Earl Stroh was born in 1924 in Buffalo, New York, and studied at the Art Institute of Buffalo, the Art Students League of New York, the University of New Mexico, and the Atelier Friedlander in Paris. In 1947 he moved to Taos, New Mexico, where he worked with Andrew Dasburg and Tom Benrimo. He began making lithographs in 1970 and was chosen several times as a guest artist at the University of New Mexico's Tamarind Institute. His subjects were usually panoramic landscapes. Provenance: Purchased in Taos, NM by consignor's father and passed to him, a Knoxville, TN collector. Condition: Very good condition. Minor losses to gilt at corners of frame.
