Harold Wahl (Washington/Minnesota, 1898 – 1980) RAINFOREST TRANSLATION, mixed media, transparent glue and oil, abstract on board, 1976 dated en verso. Signed lower right. Sight: 35" H x 47" W. Framed: 40 1/8" H x 52" W. Harold Wahl worked in the newspaper and magazine business in CA and WA as a cartoonist and worked in the family retail business during the Depression. He served in WW II on Amchitka Island in the Aleutian Islands where he continued to paint. His work evolved from early near photographic images to becoming purely abstract with his main focus being the dynamic force of nature.
