20th century designer Rose Tarlow French style desk of angular bombe form, featuring a rectangular lipped top with inset leather writing surface, and a central long drawer flanked on each side by two short drawers, supported on four curved angular legs. Drawers are dovetailed, with serpentine brass bail pulls. 31 in. H x 66 in. W x 30 in. D. California, circa 1980.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Each foot has been lengthened by 2 inches, so that the distance from floor to bottom of central drawer is 25 1/2 inches for extra knee clearance. Some fading and staining to leather top. Small corner of dry wood to one drawer. Wear to finish at front center lip. Some losses to rear edges. A few other small areas of wear and loss.
