Grouping of two (2) swords. 1st item – Civil War M1840 musician Horstman sword with scabbard. Marked at base of blade, "Horstman & Sons" verso with stamped profile of king design. Brass and leather scabbard with stamped initials "L.H.K." at tip. 34 1/4" sword, 35" length with scabbard. 2nd item – Knoxville Senate No. 1068 sword with brass guard and ribbed green stone grip, helmet pommel. Blade etched, "Knoxvlle Senate No. 1068" verso "Omne Trinum Perfectum" with other engraved motifs. Note – The Knoxville Senate No. 1068 was the Knights of the Ancient Essenic Order, organized 1895. The Essenes were one of the three Jewish sects. There were originally 85 charter members. 33 3/8" length. Condition: 1st item – minor pitting to blade. scabbord having brass mounts dented and leather is degraded with lossses mainly where the scabbard may have been previously creased. 2nd – minor oxidation to engraved blade.
