Assembled group of twelve (12) Native American miniature baskets and porcupine quill boxes. 1st-3rd items: Three (3) Northwest Tlinglet round baskets, including two (2) round lidded forms with figural bird decoration and one (1) with green band decoration to the rim. Ranging in size from 1 3/4" H x 3" dia. to 2 3/8" H x 3 1/4" dia. 4th-6th items: Three (3) Inuit baskets, including one (1) round lidded Yupik grass basket by Gemma Hunter, one (1) round lidded Haida cedar bark form with whale design by Eliasica Timmerman, and one (1) smaller Haida cedar bark lidded basket with whale design. Ranging in size from 1 3/4" H to 3 3/4" H. 7th & 8th items: Two (2) Choctaw rivercane baskets, including one (1) doubleweave wastebasket form by Alicia Shumake and one (1) small round basket form by Laura Jefferson, both retain the original tags. 3 3/4" H and 2 1/2" H (w/ handle). 9th item: Cherokee willow basket, round form, initialed LS and dated 2003. 3 1/2" H. 10th item: Jeremy Frey basket pendant, grass and oak, signed and dated 2006. 3" square. 11th & 12th items: Two (2) porcupine quill and bark lidded boxes, likely Ojibwe, Ottawa or Chippewa, one (1) round form with geometric quill design to the top and one (1) oval form with floral decoration to the top. 1 1/2" H x 3 3/4" dia. & 1 1/2" H x 3 1/2" W. All baskets 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Patricia Kiegel, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 11th item: Round quill box, top with scattered minor losses to quills and band, base with some scattered losses and lifting to quills, mostly along the base edge. All remaining items overall good condition with very light wear.
