Francis Patterson (American, 20th century) Folk Art panoramic oil on canvas painting depicting the Louisville & Nashville Train Depot in Etowah, Tennessee. Features the Victorian L & N railway station with a red L & N train to the right, a couple being assisted while boarding the train, smoke rising from the train's chimney, and a mountain landscape in the background all under a cloudy morning or early evening sky. Signed lower right FRANCIS PATTERSON and titled L & N DEPOT ETOWAH, TENN. Housed in a wood frame with a brightly painted frieze. Sight: 22 3/4" H x 44 3/4" W. Framed: 26" H x 48" W. Note: The Victorian-style Louisville & Nashville Depot in Etowah, Tennessee was constructed in 1906. The structure now serves as a railroad museum.
CONDITION: With some light grime, on pencil mark to the center sky area measuring 4" L, slight waviness to canvas.
