Two (2) Asian, likely Chinese, scroll paintings, watercolor, ink, and gouache on silk, depicting ducks in landscape settings, including one (1) depicting a male mandarin duck in repose (64″ H x 17″ W); and one (1) depicting a male mallard duck in flight (65″ H x 20″ W). Both with rows of calligraphy and red seal marks, lower left. Both mounted on beige or gold silk brocade with paper backing. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection/estate of Mr. and Mrs. W. Jeter Eason, Memphis, by descent to present consignor.
CONDITION: Both with creases, toning, areas of dampstaining, largest 9 1/2″ x 8″, largest 6 3/4″, and areas of separation, largest 18″, fraying, and general wear to paintings, brocade, and paper backing.
