Middle Tennessee stoneware preserving jar with cobalt stenciling reading "WAGGONER & WINGROVE/EDGEFIELD. TENN", with cobalt line decoration to neck and base, above and below stencil. Stencil most likely indicates a retailer in Edgefield (Davidson County, Nashville). 10 1/4" H. Late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: Private Southeast Tennessee collection. CONDITION: Tight hairline emanating from mid-point on one side to base, otherwise overall good condition.
