Pair of Chinese export armorial style porcelain lidded urns with pistol grip handles and square bases, hand-painted ornamentation of blue flowers and garlands and gilded handles and finial; the center on front and back contain a painted bald eagle in the cartouche with the latin motto "Eplu-ibus Unum." Each are marked on the bottom with Chinese marks. 16"h (with finial). Probably 20th century. Provenance: Estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn. Condition: Very good condition with no crazing or cracks, some gilding worn away on handles and finial, both urns appear to have been glued to the stem of the urn right above the pedestal.
