1st item: Empire style miniature chest of drawers, comprised of a slightly overhanging top above plain frieze containing one slightly overhanging pull drawer above two drawers with rosette brass pulls flanked by ebonized doric columns having brass mounts, all upon tapering feet. All drawers with green felt lining. 10 1/2" H x 14 3/8" W x 7 3/8" D. European, early 20th century. 2nd item: French Louis XV style carved walnut and parcel gilt side chair with shell carved crest rail and seat front and carved cabriole legs. Back and seat with cream and gold floral velvet upholstery. 38" H x 21" W x 20" D. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Minor scattered wood shrinkage and surface wear commensurate with age and manner of use. Minor discoloration to area of top, measuring 7/8" x 2 5/8". 2nd item: Overall very good condition.
