North Carolina 1 gallon alkaline glaze stoneware preserving jar faintly stamped below the rim "LSR/Blackburn NC" for Luther Seth Ritchie (Catawba County, 1867 to 1940). 8 1/2" H. Early 20th century. Provenance: Private Southern Collection. CONDITION: Scattered firing flaws and glaze voids along the base, in the making. 1/2" chip to rim. Felt protectors added to base.
