Aesthetic Movement English floor screen with a carved mahogany frame surrounding a glass-encased Japanese or Japanese style hand embroidered silk panel with foliate decoration having trestle base with partially turned stretcher. 54" H x 28 1/2" W x 2" D. Fourth quarter of 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: The screen is in very good condition with minor restoration to the frame structure for added strength. The silk embroidery shows slight age-related fading to the woven background, but the embroidery is very good condition. The back silk cover with a small tear and some damp staining.
