Hardcover octavos, 2,336 total marbled-edged pages, each volume with two steel engraved frontispieces depicting portraits of Washington or other scenes relevant to his life with tissue paper guards, hardbound in three quarter light brown leather with marbled paper sides, re-backed with brown leather spines with gilt lettering, five raised hubs, marbled end papers. Approximately 7 3/4" H x 5 1/4" W x 1 3/8" D.
CONDITION: Covers in overall good condition with rubbing, areas of blistering to marbled paper, leather with wear, dampstaining, minor areas of loss, corners bumped. Pages in overall good, legible condition with toning, scattered foxing spots, slight waviness to paper.
