Eames No. 670 & 671 lounge chair and ottoman, made by Herman Miller and designed in 1956 by Charles Eames (American, 1907-1978) and Ray Eames (American, 1912-1988). Rosewood veneer shells with black leather cushions and cast aluminum bases. Early Herman Miller Black Strip labels to the undersides of the chair and ottoman, indicating manufacture between 1970 – 1984. Chair measures 31 1/4 in. H x 32 1/2 in. W x 28 in. D. Ottoman measures: 17 in. H x 25 1/2 in. W x 22 in. D. Note: Lot retains the original 1972 sales receipt.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Dr. Allen E. Johnson, Knoxville, TN.
CONDITION: Both pieces are in overall good condition with general expected wear and minor scattered abrasions.
