Three (3) Mid 20th Century Confederate Reunion Flags. 1st item: Confederate Defiance machine sewn flag, comprised of printed linen on linen ground, canvas hoist with two metal grommets. Fabric maker's label and "3 x 5" stamped in blue ink, top of hoist. 33 1/4" H x 55" W. 2nd item: Confederate machine sewn flag, comprised of printed cotton on cotton ground, cotton hoist with two brass grommets. 36" H x 57" W. 3rd item: Confederate machine sewn flag, comprised of printed cotton on cotton ground, cotton hoist with two metal grommets. Ink inscriptions, lower left of flag. Old yarn tied to grommets. 35" H x 59 3/4" W. Provenance: Private Ringgold, Georgia collection; among items purchased in the 1960's from the old location of the A. P. Stewart Chapter of the UDC (United Daughters of the Confederacy), formerly the Nathan Bedford Forrest UCV (United Confederate Veterans) home, St. Elmo, Chattanooga, TN. CONDITION: Overall good condition. 1st item: 1" area of repair, top right of flag. Few minor age stains, loose threads, to surface of flag. 2nd item: 4" x 2 1/2" hole, center right, stains to surface of flag. 3rd item: Few minor age stains, loose threads, to surface of flag.
